OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 9 series on March 23. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has unveiled the OnePlus 9 Pro officially.

Lau’s post showcases the OnePlus 9 Pro in Morning Mist color option, which has a silver colorway. The photos confirm some of the previously leaked OnePlus 9 Pro specifications and features.

At the front, the device has a curved display with a hole-punch cutout. It is rumor that the 9 Pro will have a 6.7-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz fluid display 2.0.
OnePlus 9 Pro will feature a new display technology called Fluid Display 2.0 that will bring a dynamic screen refresh rate of up to 120Hz, the company announced in a forum post. The proprietary technology from OnePlus integrates Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) backplane panel with an advanced touch response experience for an improved user experience. The OnePlus 9 Pro offers up to six times faster syncing speed between the display and the processor to make touch responses quicker when compared to previous OnePlus phones, the company said. Some other display specifications of the OnePlus 9 Pro have also surfaced online separately.

Aiming to offer reduced power consumption alongside enabling higher screen refresh rate, the OnePlus 9 Pro uses this LTPO backplane technology. This dynamically adapts the refresh rate from 120Hz all the way down to 1Hz basis the on-screen content, which is claimed to be the lowest in the smartphone industry.

On the back is a quad-camera setup. It is confirmed to come with a 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor and a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. Leaked camera specifications also reveal that the 9 Pro will come with an 8MP telephoto lens with a 3.3x optical zoom and a 2MP depth sensor.

Citing results from screen benchmarking firm DisplayMate, PCMag reports that the OnePlus 9 Pro will have a curved 6.7-inch QHD+ (1,440x3,216 pixels) OLED display with a 526ppi of pixel density. The display is also claimed to deliver up to 1,043 nits of peak brightness — up from 1,009 nits on the OnePlus 8 Pro. On the colour accuracy front, the company said that the OnePlus 9 Pro's display is “visually indistinguishable from perfect”, though it's not entirely clear how that measures up to its competitors. The phone is also said to have a blue-light-reduction mode and HDR10+ support.

The right edge will have the alert slider and the power button, leaving room for the volume rocker on the left. The device will have a metal frame along the edges.

Under the hood, the phone will get powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It is likely to be paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will come with a 4,500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. Moreover, the device will come with 50W wireless fast charging, according to a recent report. The OnePlus smartphone series will come with a charger in the box.

OnePlus 9 Pro will have 50W wireless charging. OnePlus is also said to launch a Warp Charge 50 Wireless charger along with the OnePlus 9 series next week.

By offering 50W wireless charging, the OnePlus 9 Pro could provide one of the fastest charging speeds without requiring a cable to be directly connected to the phone. The 50W rating is in fact close to what you'll get on most smartphones through wired charging. Interestingly, the OnePlus 9 series is speculated to have 65W wired charging, which is just 15W higher than the reported wireless charging support.

The company has also officially revealed the Winter Mist color of the vanilla OnePlus 9. Previously leaked renders reveal that the One Plus 9 will come in Stellar Black, Artic Sky, and Winter Mist colors. The Pro OnePlus flagship will come in Astral Black, Morning Mist, and Pine Green colors.
